Savannah

We spent a week in Savannah before Sam left. We had some quality family time, it's hard not to w/ the four of us staying in a hotel room for a week.
We have very few family pictures of the 4 of us and I wanted one of Sam in uniform
of course neither kid is looking at the camera and I am rarely happy w/ a pic of myself but oh well :)

Saying bye to Daddy :( We decided not to do the big goodbye where they go get on the plane and leave. The times I have been before there were kids crying hysterically b/c they know Daddy is leaving for a long time. We didn't want Mayson to have a tramatic experience. Plus it is always a long time from when you get there until they leave and I didn't think I could keep up w/ Mayson and take care of Trey that whole time by myself. We will be there when the plane lands though!
kissing Trey bye

They always say hole in the wall places are the best, well this is where we get barbeque in Savannah. It is yummy...and it is definitely a hole!!

We spent some time in the gym on base, here's Mayson pumping some 1 lb weights

We met a professional golf caddy who was in Savannah for a golf tournament. The hotel has a little putting green, I found some little plastic golf clubs at Wal-Mart, Mayson had a blast playing w/ him.

The other Smiths (Chris, Katie, Caroline and Camden..nope we aren't related) were in Statesboro (about 45 min from Savannah) for a wedding so they came and spent Sunday night at the hotel and we hung out. It was great to see them. Mayson and Caroline do not see each other that much but always play well together like they are best friends...it is so cute.

They were so proud to have each other's shoe on

The Smith kids!

Mayson getting a lecture after she used Daddy's razor and cut up her chin

We went to dinner it was interesting w/ two 2 year olds a 7 month old and a 3 month old. To entertain the 2 yr olds we all had to put stickers on our noses. It's funny what our dining experiences have become.

The Daddy-Os-- Chris and Sam

Mayson and Caroline...so sweet

The Daddys and the boys

Hanging out on the sofa bed

Relaxing at the pool

Mayson wanted to go swimming so bad...it was warm enough outside but the pool was freezing. We still went to hang out and put our feet in, even though they would go numb.

We've tried for a while to go to Lady and Son's in Savannah (Paula Deen's resturant). We had never timed it right. Well we decided to make it happen this time. We had to go at 9:30 in the morning to get on the list. You actually have to wait in line to get on the list. We got there about 9:45 and I was well back in the line. By the time we got up there the only times left were 11am and 1:30...they also had dinner, but w/ 2 kids dinner wouldn't work for us. Anyway we took the 11 since 1:30 is too close to naptime. We were dressed to workout so we raced back to the hotel changed clothes and headed back down town. You then have to wait across the street until they call your name to seat you. Since we were cutting it close on time Sam let Mayson and I out and went to park w/ Trey. They called our name and Sam wasn't there yet. I was worried b/c they won't seat you unless your whole party is there and if a certain amount of time passes you lose your table. Finally Sam comes w/ Trey and we head in. I got the buffet and it was yummy. I even tried collard greens. I figured if anyone can make collard greens yummy it is Paula! They were good. Sam got a Tiliapa sandwich. How can you go to Paula's restaurant and not get fried chicken and mac and cheese... etc!! Oh yeah, it was definitely worth the effort to eat there!

Sweet tea, biscuit and "hoe cakes" they are flattened like pancakes but are made w/ corn meal, I believe..they were yummy.

Sam ate w/ Trey in the carrier, he didn't want to lug the carseat 3 blocks...(can't blame him for that) and we didn't have room in the car for a stroller.

One of the many squares in Savannah....I love just sitting and watching people here. Something about the trees is so calming
